Side Street in North Beach

When this area was rebuilt after 1906, the intent was to make housing for the middle class and even well-to-do facing the wide streets and, behind them facing narrow streets, housing for the working class.  This was a concept of mixing several classes in one neighborhood.  This is one of the narrow streets. Today all the housing in San Francisco is expensive.
